Life in the Dash //
f you take a walk through your average churchyard you will discover the names of all those who have been buried there with inscriptions on their gravestones.
IA typical stone will say “John Smith. 1902-1983” for example.
We all take note of the dates but have you ever considered that the most important part for God is the dash in the middle.
You live your life in the dash. What really counts, what really matters is in the dash.
You only get one dash. It is in the middle of start and finish. The summation of your life will be in the dash.
Psalm 139:16 tells us that God fashioned all the days of our life before we were born. He has a maximum potential for us in our life. It is a reflection of what you can achieve in your generation before you die.
My heart cry today is “wake up” you are living now in your dash. There is no more time to get ready for it. Yes, sometimes we would like to hold the world off and get life sorted but we do not have that luxury.
We have a choice. We can make our dash count for God or we may end up finding it counts for nothing. I want you to consider this. Right now there are no more important people on the earth than God’s people. The prosperity and well being of the nations is not dependent on military might, politicians or terrorists. You are God’s best. He placed you here to expand His kingdom and His blessing on the earth. It is the hope of the world. It is the only thing that will change things.
I believe we are in a unique point in time right now. The world is cracking up. It has no answers anymore but we do. People are hungry for spiritual reality and we must be bold enough to rise up and be ready to provide what they need.
We need to decide that our life counts and we will live it for the kingdom. You do not have time to work out for years on you and then squeeze God in somewhere after. We are not in a rehearsal. You are what God has now.
We must not shovel the work of preaching life and kingdom power and potential on to the next generation. It is time to make an impact now. Don’t look with your mind, look with the eyes of your spirit beyond what you are doing now. Esther had to look beyond her background and decide that she was born for the opportunity she had to save the Jewish nation. We are here to make a difference in our time. We have to go beyond being hearers only and instead be doers so we deliver for this generation.
The world outside needs us to be the people of God that He has empowered us to be. Scripture says that God is coming for a vibrant church. One who will be strong and determined to take kingdom power and truth to the world. Will you rise up and be a part of that army, working together, knowing your place so there is a supernatural flow that will win this world for Jesus?
This is our time to shine. Let us trust that God means what he says that he will never leave us or forsake us. He is ready to pour out Himself like never before for those who will go for Him.
Will you step up and go?
